Final 10 Lake District Landscapes

Shown below are my final 10 Lake district Landscapes which I took last Autumn on a holiday to the lakes in Cumbria. I took a bout 300 images on the holiday. My Tutor Steve and I picked the best 20 images from the 300,then finally selected the best final 10 images shown below for my coursework

  2. Thanks Lesley. I found this a real challenge not knowing the area and the light was so flat and dull, but you have to make the most of what you've got on the day. It was nice to capture some moody skies but there was still a lack of brightness.

Iv'e brightened up some of the images in Photoshop to bring out a little colour, maybe next time I will have a little sunshine to help

  3. I'm enjoying these, but wondering why your white balance is set to Auto?. Being as you are shooting in RAW, did you try changing it to Cloudy, Vivid and having a look? Or did you change it after?

  4. PS: You always complain about daylight, but love it when it's pitch black!

  5. No miss Nikon didn't touch the white balance just left it on Auto. Because I shot in raw it gives me all the options to change the white balance if I want to. These shots were all left on the "as shot" setting which was the the nearest correct white balance to what I viewed through my camera view finder.

We all of to Ashby tomoz ,are you coming?

  7. Hi Steve,
Truly exceptional images!, the light and use of composition are often lost in photography and the simple timing of being in the right place at the right time on purpose. Stop now as you have already achieved a very high level of professional standard work here. All you need to do is to talk through how best to display these. Also we need to consider the city and guilds competition which I will talk about to the group on saturday.

    Jolly well done.

    Steve
