Wuthering heights shoot

Spent a really enjoyable afternoon up in the Roaches with Jim and a lovely model that Jim had organised from one of the model agency's. We planned a Wuthering heights type shoot and wanted a windy rugged location, we certainly got the wind ok, nearly blown of the top of the Roaches.

Very challenging conditions, extreme wind, horizontal rain, brilliant sunshine, sky as black as bag and a
rainbow thrown in for good measure

I'd like to thank Jim for being my mentor on a new found direction of portraits by speed-lights,
At last Iv'e seen the light!!

Can't wait for the next shoot

Colour or Monochrome? What are your thought's and critique's?

  1. A good set of professional portraits in a beautiful setting. Well done Steve.

As for colour or black and white, I like both. Possibly the black and white may be more suitable for some given the film of the book which was in black and white.

Did you have many photographs when the weather was not so good ? I am just thinking of the end of the story when the storm hit them. You had such good weather in the above shots.

One question though, who was Heathcliffe ?

  2. Thanks mate, I found it a bit of a challenge but have learnt such a lot through a series of basic mistakes which I won't be repeating next time ,but that is a great way to learn. Heathcliffe was the models boyfriend, we roped him in as a lighting man, prop man, actor and bag carrier. What a jolly spiffing fellow

Yea got some more shots in all weather, watch this space for some more shots

  3. Well, what I was trying to say was I'm loving the top colour one and can't see the point of black and white which is for old folk with blow up trees. Your horizon looks on the wonk although it probably wasn't, its a bit distracting for those of us who are easily distracted. You obviously had some fun flashing, good stuff!

  4. Nice images I have to agree with Pip not sure the B&W image is required as the colour is far stronger, nice location, I would crop the image to remove the wonky horizon on the left personally.
